Not only did John give us an inspirational summary about where Rotary is going, but we also had Margaret address the members and their wives -- an inspiring talk on how Rotary is able to promote humanitarian assistance in so many areas of the world, and about the very real relief that projects like Shelterbox have been able to provide, all from the funds we can inject into this work of Rotary International. This was a night when there were absolutely no “dozers off “. We were able to have a small ceremony to induct Roger Wilson as a member of the Club and of Rotary International –and Roger’s wife Jennie attended too. In all we had an attendance of 23 last Monday ! Dates have not been finalized, but we will require host families in Christchurch, Blenheim, Nelson, the West Coast and Ashburton for 2 or 3 nights in each venue.
