ROTARY AT THE PRINCE ALBERT: MEET 5:45PM for Drinks/Coffee/ discussion

On 10th June we were joined by Stoke-Tahuna Rotary members, and the Club made a presentation to Nelson College final year Science scholar, Charlie Norton, selected by the Royal Society of NZ, as one of 5 New Zealanders to attend the London International Youth Science Forum in July.Charlie brought along his father and grand-father, and thanked us for our interest in him. The Club contributed $250, which was augmented by the same amount of $250 given by the Dick Roberts Community Trust –for attendance at Science Symposium. 
Our Speaker was Brigadier Sean Trengrove who presented a video film-clip of the NZ Defence Force’s work in the Youth Training and Life-skills area. Training camps are held which are all about instilling ambition, diligence and commitment in these young cadets who are drawn from differing parts of society. 
The Club has donated $500 to the Nelson/Marl. Helicopter Rescue Trust, doubling the effort from the Hot Chips Caravan on the Fund-raiser Day.The Trust has more applications in hand

STOKE – TAHUNA ROTARY : you are invited Tues. night to join Stoke-Tahuna Rotary Club at the Ocean Lodge, Muritai St. But they need to know the numbers attending for the meal –phone John at 5473408 or e-mail < jenny.john01@xtra.co.nz> by 5pm Monday prior. 
The speakers are from the Police Dog Handling unit, this will be an interesting night..

+ RUTHERFORD’S CHANGE-OVER- is at Leisure Lodge on Mon. 24th June, cost is $32 per head, and pre-drinks and table beverages will be on the Club. The Chairman – Organiser is Jim Bishop, who will preside over the festivities on the night. Jim is busy preparing the programme for this now. There will be invited guests including our PHF holders and 
Honorary members.
