CLUB PROJECTS
The Food caravan was out on 5th May with a team of three helping to raise funds for the Nelson-Marlborough Chopper Day. We understand that at least $500 was made from the cooking of Talleys’ chips, Talleys being a major sponsor for that day. The boys even had a ride over town on the Chopper, a just reward for their labours that Sunday. NEWS FROM OUR TRUST : The trustees recently met and approved Grants to :
1. Brook Robertson - Rowing Rep. for the under 23 NZ 8 –sweep Team training at
Lake Karapiro to prepare for World Rowing Champs in July being held in Linz, Austria.
2. Tia Lindbom-Turner – sponsor assistance to take part in a week on The Spirit of New Zealand training ship.
- 3- NOTICES FROM SECRETARY BARRY -- Hi All, District notices below RYE. Some important notes from Murray Butler. a. The Rotary Youth Exchange Programme SELECTION process is being held in Christchurch on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
A second minor selection in Nelson on Sunday afternoon.
If any clubs/members are interested in attending, please advise Murray a.s.a.p. Murray Butler 027 445 9191 or murray@butler.net.nz
b. The programme is desperately short of host clubs for the July INBOUNDS. Time is critical. Please…
c. Even if your club cannot help with the programme, how about giving HOSTING a go. We need host FAMILIES (3 months is good). Give it a try. You will enjoy it. Four families willing to give it a go out of hundreds of Rotarians will mean that the paperwork can be completed and these students can arrive in NZ in July. Now is the time to act. All training and assistance is available. Please call or email Murray. Murray Butler 027 445 9191 or murray@butler.net.nz
Cheers
Barry B
