Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. CPTED.
CPTED means designing to reduce the opportunity for crime.
Ingrid enthusiastically detailed how with a bit of thought we can make our communities safer. People need to think someone owns a property and if they enter it they can not claim they are permitted to be there.
The way to make it better revolves around various key issues like access and visibility.
Good lighting is very important also.
This is leading to council rules being proposed on fence heights.
Hedges and high fences allow bad people to carry out nasty stuff without the public being able to see and report what is going on.
