Trustpower Lend a hand Foundation

The TrustPower Lend A Hand Foundation has been set up in Dunedin, the West Coast and Snowtown, Australia, to assist small charitable organisations and individuals in those communities.

The Foundation is set up in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Hokitika, Greymouth and Buller on the West Coast, with the Malcam Charitable Trust and the St Kilda Rotary Club in Dunedin and the Snowtown Lions Club in Snowtown . The support given to groups is through funding, mentoring or through the provision of goods or services.

Other businesses are able to become TrustPower Lend a Hand Foundation supporters by either donating money, or providing goods or services. Businesses can give as much or as little as they like - every small contribution makes a difference. Many businesses have already signed up to the benefits of being a Lend A Hand Foundation business supporter. Dunedin Lend A Hand
The TrustPower Dunedin Lend A Hand Foundation, the first Lend A Hand Foundation, was set up in 2004.

West Coast Lend A Hand
The TrustPower West Coast Lend A Hand Foundation was launched in February 2009 in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Westport, Hokitika and Greymouth.

The West Coast Family and Children’s Trust has wound up, with the Trust donating $16,000 to the Lend a Hand Foundation.

Since its launch the TrustPower West Coast Lend A Hand Foundation has given out more than $20,000 worth of grants.

Some of the recipients include Hokitika SPCA, which is fundraising for a new building; Westport Soccer Club, for new club strip and equipment; Sarah McQuade, a Girl Guide leader requiring funds for an Outward Bound course; Soroptimist International of Westland, funding for an anti-bullying course for girls; and Westport Playcentre, funds for a stereo for music and movement classes.


Snowtown Lend A Hand
The TrustPower Snowtown Lend A Hand Foundation is still in its early stages and has the following business support:

The TrustPower Snowtown Lend A Hand Foundation has also given out its first round of grants.

Some of the recipients include: Snowtown Bowling Club for non-slip paint; Brinkworth History Group for display shelving; and Snowtown Kindergarten for a shade cover, Snowtown Christmas Carnival, Kadina School (for a Broughton Youth to sail on "One and All" training ship, Brinkworth Bowling Club, Snowtown Playgroup, Snowtown Card Club, Art teaching in District Schools.


Central Otago Lend A Hand
The TrustPower Central Otago Lend A Hand Foundation was launched on Thursday 4 March 2010 at a ceremony at the Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery, Alexandra.

The Foundation is being run in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Alexandra, Cromwell and Roxburgh.

The Central Otago Plunket Car Seat Rental Scheme, for the purchase of new car seats;
Cromwell Community Welfare Trust, funding towards the Trust's foodbank;
Central Otago Parenting Network and Central Otago REAP, funding towards a series of Brainwave seminars;
Central Otago Victim Support, funding towards the purchase of soft toys to be given to those affected by accidents, trauma and emergencies in the district;
Central Otago Regional Choir, funding towards the choir's May 2010 concert series.
