For the attention of Rotary Clubs in District 9970
Rotary International has recently advised Immediate Past District Governors to assist in identifying exemplary Vocational Service projects.
The revised RI Strategic Plan asks clubs and districts to continue to emphasize vocational service. Rotary International is looking for examples of successful, innovative, diverse and replicable model vocational service projects to enable them to establish a set of best practices.
So we are looking for the best vocational service projects undertaken in 2009-10 from our district , and can select up to three to forward to RI on the attached form.
These will be recognised by RI and a few of the best projects will be highlighted on the RI website and in other publications to celebrate the observance of Vocational Service Month in October. All of the submissions will be considered for inclusion on ProjectLINK, Rotary’s online database for projects in need of resources and successfully completed model projects.
Consider submitting entries that address topics such as mentoring programs, job fairs, vocational training, scholarship programs and project partnerships with organizations like Goodwill Industries International. Vocational service projects can also involve Rotary programs such as RYLA, Open World, Rotary Community Corps and Rotary Volunteers.
In order to send submissions to Rotary International by the required date I need to receive completed forms no later than August 12th (I am heading overseas on 14th August so this deadline will be strictly adhered to).
