Jock Braithwaite who is speaking on Shackleton

Hi folks
Firstly I guess you all understand we have no meeting next Monday due to Labour Day.
Graham has come up trumps with a special speaker for Monday 2 November.
I thought you would like to hear about it in advance.
The Rotary Speaker for November 2nd is Jock Braithwaite who is speaking on Shackleton and his months on pack ice before setting up camp on Elephant Island and then sailing in an open boat to South Georgia to get help for his men. This is one of the worlds great survival stories of amazing courage, skill, and bravery.
Some of you might know that Ruth Bagnell is descended from one of Shackleton's party.
So I guess our club has a special interest in this amazing story.
Members might like to bring a guest to hear Jock With a bit of luck the winter might have decided to go to bed by then and it could be a great night out in the warm spring evening for you and your lady to sip cool chardonnay whilst watching the yachts gently rock at their moorings.
